Mastering the Art of Building Trust When Networking

As we head off to the BiS Big Networking event today, we’ve been reflecting on what makes networking one of the most effective marketing tactics.

It isn’t of course just about collecting business cards (although in our opinion they are a critical component!); it’s about cultivating meaningful connections and building trust.

According to Psychology Today, trust is the belief that someone can be relied on to do what they say they will. It’s a key element of social relationships and a foundation for cooperation and collaboration. 

But trust doesn’t come easily. It takes time and patience to develop.
